Paitangi Art & Ink
Paitangi is an artist who works with wood, bone, fibre and paint but whose preferred medium is ink on skin. She is one of the few female Tā Moko Artists of New Zealand. Paitangi was one of the first women to take up the practice of Tā Moko. She upholds the traditions of the art while also challenging conventional notions of who is entitled to perform such work.
A feature of the website is the strong black and white home page with full width banner images using the beautiful work of Paitangis photographer friend Tracey Stevens. With parallax banners that ‘reveal’ the work, we kept the design exceedingly simple as a frame to showcase Paitangi’s incredible art.
